Impressive Defence Day celebrated at Nur Khan Air Base

ISLAMABAD, Sep 06 (APP): An impressive event to mark Defence Day was held at PAF’ Nur Khan Air Base here Tuesday.
In his inaugural address, Base Commander, Nur Khan Air Base Air Commodore Haseeb Gul informed the audience that PAF rendered its best services during 1965 war. He said that PAF was striving for achieving best practiced standards in warfare, for which PAF today has been ranked among top air forces of the world.
Reiterating PAF’s commitment to contribute in national defence, the Base Commander said aerial defenders were engaged with land forces in ongoing military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’. He further said that Pakistan Air Force was attentive and ready to counter any aggression.
On this occasion, the message by Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Amaan was also read out in which he reaffirmed PAF’s resolve to put all out efforts in defending homeland.
Air Vice Marshal (R) Javed Hayat Malik on the occasion emphasized on highlighting and spreading PAF’s success stories among massive youth. He also shared magnificent contribution of C-130 (PAF transport aircraft) during 1965 war.
Later, Air Vice Marshal (R) Javed Hayat Malik opened defence exhibition and visited various stalls and fighter jets parked at the base.
The remarkable event also involved fly past by fighter jets of PAF, including JF-17 Thunder and F-16.
A large number of visitors were present at the Base who witnessed and enjoyed the event. The air show and songs presented by the students from Fazaya College were highly appreciated by the audience.
