PM Sharif meets President of Azerbaijan

BAKU (AZERBAIJAN), Oct 14 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Friday met Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan.
Both the dignitaries discussed the matters pertaining to bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The two leaders resolved to enhance cooperation in diverse areas. Bilateral trade, commerce and investment opportunities came under discussion.
The two sides also shared views on recent regional situation and global affairs at large.
PM Sharif while extending excitement on visiting Azerbaijan, urged for further strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries. He said Pakistan is following the policy of regional cooperation.
The Prime Minister termed China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Project as spur of regional cooperation. He also noted that there were magnificent investment opportunities in the region. “We should take advantage of opportunities present in the region,” he said.
The Prime Minister apprised the host president about ongoing energy and infrastructural projects under CPEC. The president appreciated the visit by PM Sharif.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the Presidential Palace, PM Sharif was warmly received by President Ilham Aliyev.
