12th Karachi International Book Fair from Dec 15-19


KARACHI, Dec 13 (APP): The 12th Karachi International Book Fair
2016 will open on Thursday (Dec 15) at the Karachi Expo Centre.
The five-day international event will be inaugurated by Adviser
Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Division,
Irfan Siddiqui.
While the Minister for Literacy and Education, Sindh Jam Mehtab
will be the guest of honour.
Thirty-two exhibitors from 10 countries will participate directly
the fair, which is organised by the Pakistan Publishers and
Booksellers Association.
Publishers from Iran, India, Turkey, Singapore, China, Malaysia,
England and other countries will attend the international event, said
the Convener of 12th KIBF, Owais Mirza Jamil and the Chairman of
Pakistan Publishers and Booksellers Association Aziz Khalid at a joint
press conference here on Tuesday.
The book fair will be held in hall number 1, 2 and 3 in Karachi
Centre. All genres of books on all topics will be displayed in over
330 stalls for five days from December 15-19. The book fair timings
are 10 am
to 9 pm daily.
Aziz Khalid, said, “Around 500,000 people are expected to visit
12th KIBF.
“The event will be visited by book lovers, students from all
and ages, professionals from all walks of life, academicians, writers,
librarians and general public.
“Various book launchings and book release ceremonies will also be
for notable writers during the fair, besides various contests like
drawing, recitation, extempore speech, and quiz for kids.”
