Desire for peace should not be taken as weakness. DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI Jan 31 (APP): Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Maj General Asif Ghafoor on Tuesday stated that Pakistan is peace loving country and wants all outstanding issues with India to be resolved through talks.

“We don’t want war with anyone. War is not a solution to anything” he said in a media briefing at ISPR. Gen Ghafoor said Pakistan wants Kashmir issue to be resolve via United Nations resolutions and dialogue. “But this desire for peace should not be perceived as a weakness” he added.

Giving details of Indian violations in recent past, DG ISPR informed media that there had been 945 ceasefire violations across the Line of Control and the Working Boundary over the past three years. The DG further informed that last four months there have been 314 violations in which 46 Pakistan citizens and 40 Indian soldiers have been killed. Gen Ghafoor went on saying that India was doing it all under his pre-plan strategy aiming to dicert attention from Indian atrocities in Kashmir. Moreover, he said ‘surgical strike’ was also a part of same strategy of India.

On Indian cold-start doctrine, DG ISPR maintained that Pakistan has been highlighting Indian intention but were denied by India. “Now acknowledgement by Indian Army Chief on such capabilities have endorsed Pakistan’s apprehensions” he said adding that Pakistan’s dignity and respect will not be compromised.

On war against terror, DG ISPR informed that Armed Forces of Pakistan along with support by the people have defeated terrorism from Pakistan. “Peace doesn’t come overnight; we have sacrificed the blood of 70,000 in war against terrorism. Terrorist hideouts on FATA and Tribal Areas have been destroyed and terrorists had been killed, those escaped were fled to Afghanistan. “They reached there (Afghanistan) due to absence of sufficient military.

Towards contribution in forthcoming census, DG ISPR informed media that 200,000 troops will be deployed for conduct of national census.
