Pakistan achieved 5.3 percent growth rate: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD, May 26 (APP): Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal here on Friday said that 5.3 percent GDP growth rate was achieved this year.
Commenting on Budget 2017-18, he said the development budget was 1 trillion rs in PSDP allocations while for Energy infrastructure, Human development and HEC, budgetary allocations were increased from Rs 21b to 35b.
For one lac youth, government is starting software programe titled Start Up Pakistan Project with allocations of Rs 1b while Rs 12b have been allocated for power generation and transmission. Similarly Rs12bln have been allocated for clean water project, he said.
Ahsan Iqbal said that a total of Rs 9 bln has been allocated for Sindh Pure Water project while for Lawari Tunnel Rs 38b have been allocated for Western Route and Balochistan Water and Power.
The budgetary allocations for Gilgit Batistan were increased from Rs10b to Rs15b while for Azad Jammu and Kashmir Rs 12b to 22b were allocated for development, he added.
The minister said the development budget was increased as vision of our Government to increase rhe Economy Growth. Agriculture sector packages were repeated and made more attractive for Industrial revolution
