ISLAMABAD, June 19 (APP): The Supreme Court has taken a strong note of the problems and reservations of the Panama JIT and has directed the Attorney General for Pakistan to assist the court how to initiate proceedings against Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP)’s Chairman and Director General of Intelligence Bureau.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan headed by Justice Ajaz Afzal Khan and comprising Justice Ajaz ul Ahsan and Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh was hearing to the Attorney General on the application of JIT regarding ‘problems and reservations’ of the JIT members.
The court did not accept written reply of the Attorney General on the JIT applications and observed that allegations are termed baseless without proper explanation.
The court directed Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf Ali to assist the court how to initiate proceedings against chairman of the SECP for tempering legal documents and against Director General IB for harassing family members of the JIT member.
The court adjourned the proceedings for tomorrow.
