Welfare institutions are must for the survival of humanity: President

LAHORE, Jul 20 (APP) : President Mamnoon Hussain has said that welfare institutions are must for the survival of humanity noting that at a time when the welfare activities are on a decline in the society the establishment of such organization is no less than a blessing. The President stated that SOS Children’s Villages are doing a great service to humanity and such noble causes are blessed by Allah Almighty.

The President said this while talking to a delegation of children of SOS Children’s Villages headed by its president Souriya Anwar which called on him at Governor House, Lahore on Thursday.

On the occasion the President was given a detailed briefing on the performance of SOS Children’s Villages. Appreciating the performance of SOS Children’s Villages, the President said that this welfare institution is rendering commendable job for serving the mankind. The President assured the delegation that he will soon visit their organization.      The president also interacted with the children and heard poems and national songs from them, moreover, he also inquired about their educational syllabus.

Earlier,   President SOS Children’s Villages Souriya Anwar briefed the president that 14 SOS Villages are operating across the country  where more than 2000 children are acquiring education along-with participation in different activities. She apprised the President that these villages were being run with the aid of philanthropists and no foreign aid is being taken to provide these facilities to these children. She further informed that the institution was busy in the service of humanity for the past 40 years and 150 children in each village are being provided free of cost all facilities of life including education and health.APP/VNS, Lahore
