All institutions must uphold supremacy of law, constitution, says Marriyum

ISLAMABAD, Aug 11 (APP): Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that all institutions should uphold the supremacy of law and the constitution.
She said this while addressing a conference was organised to celebrate 70 years of the Parliament here on Friday at PIPS as guest of honour.
She was addressing a ceremony to mark completion of seventy years of the Parliament. The Minister of State for Information said the concept of respecting mandate of the people and the constitution demand respect for the Parliament.
Marriyum Aurangzeb regretted that throughout the history of the country, the Parliament remained most insecure institution of the country. She pointed out that the country achieved developmental goals, moved ahead in all spheres of life and its standing improved globally during the periods when democratic governments were in place.
She said it is the Parliament which gave right to information, right to education, right to due process and right to fair trial by amending the Constitution. The Minister of State said the country made all round progress during the last four years.
