President calls for inclusive approach with opportunities for all sections of society

ISLAMABAD, Dec 27 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain has called upon educational institutes and think tanks to prepare a comprehensive and pragmatic strategy for providing employment to the country`s educated youth.

Addressing the 17th Convocation of National Defence University in Islamabad on Wednesday, the President said it is our responsibility to adopt such policies in which everyone including the people living in far flung areas of the country have a chance to become a part of national mainstream.

He stressed for an inclusive approach with opportunities for all sections of society for national development.

He said our country is blessed with talented youth and vibrant human resource which if utilized in optimum capacity can yield fruitful results for overall national progress.

Mamnoon Hussain commended the role of federal and provincial governments in establishing institutes like National Vocational Training Commission for professional training of youth.

Referring to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the President said it is equally important that youth are trained on modern lines keeping in view the latest trends in science, technology, defence, strategic and security perspectives.

He said National Defence University is playing an important role in providing the students with an opportunity to enrich their knowledge on issues of national and international significance.

Mamnoon Hussain expressed pleasure that trend of female education is positive in our country and they are participating in every field alongside men.

Earlier in his address on the occasion, President National Defence University Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan highlighted the role played by the University in imparting defence and strategic studies.

He said NDU offers best research facilities to the students to play their role as important think tank in comprehensive national security which aims at combining military and civilian views over important issues.

Over one hundred and forty seven graduates, six PhDs and ninety nine MPhil students of the university were conferred degrees and medals in the Convocation.
