Pakistan offers great opportunities for investors: Miftah Ismail


ISLAMABAD, April 13 (APP): The speakers of the Round Table Conference on “Pakistan Paradise for Investment here on Monday evaluated the emerging opportunities in the Pakistan’s business and economic sectors as well as challenges and suggesting a way forward for a robust, lasting and stable economy.
Addressing the event, Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Miftah Ismail said that Pakistan has faced several challenges including Energy crises, Terrorism and extremism but due to the committed efforts and policies of the government we overcome the situation and today we are moving ahead towards peace and prosperity and economic stability. He said that we have achieved major successes in last five years and achieved the goals of peace and economic stability but there is a lot more to do to meet the challenges of world.
He said that last year the economy grew by five point four percent while the inflation rate has also been brought down from eleven point three percent to five percent.
Miftah Ismail said with improved security situation, the country provides an enabling environment to the investors in different sectors of the economy.
He was of the view that we have a right size of market, best workforce and resources. The only thing to do is to use these resources in best possible way in larger National interest.
He added that today, our economy is sound and stable; exports will grow while inflation will reduce this year and Pakistan will continue to grow in the days to come.
Talking about the energy crises, he said that in 2013 Energy was a biggest issue of the country but today the situation is completely different. To address the issue on priority basis the Government has initiated number of projects among which many are now working and adding electricity in national grid, he added.
About Economic reform package he said that this package will help middle class of the country. Economic reforms and development of the country is the part of PMLN vision. He said that we aimed at expending tax net and encouraging and facilitating tax payers
Addressing the event Advisor of Prime Minister on National Security Nasir janjua said that Pakistan is not an ordinary country; it is a beautiful country with a lot of opportunities and trillion dollars minerals.
He said that we have continually fighting against terrorism to ensure peace and stability in the country. He said that through Operation Zarb e Azab we bring peace in the country and today Pakistan is an ideal and safe destination for investors.
He said that Karachi is a business hub but was disturbed by terrorism. Today the economic activities in the city are back and we hope that it will once again play its active role in national development
He said that Baluchistan is the largest province of Pakistan but there was a sense of deprivation in the people due to the propaganda of negative nationalism. We worked for improving the situation and gave the slogan of nationalism to replace negative nationalism and bring the people of Balochistan under one national flag
He said that we have achieved initial success and people throw their weapons. We engage the people of Balochistan inn National development and bring peace and prosperity there, he added
He said that the future of Pakistan is very bright but to achieve this goal we have to do a lot more. Pakistan is the land of opportunities and will also be the industrial hub in the region.
He added that Pakistan is Paradise and will bring a Paradise to this world. This is the country which is investing in peace, stability and cooperation because Pakistan is a peace loving nation and also a huge Economic opportunity.
