Minister visits Jail/Media Talk at Sukkur


SUKKUR, Nov 8 (APP) – Sindh Minister for Prison, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Thursday paid a surprise visit to the Central Jail Sukkur and reviewed security arrangements and facilities that being provided to the inmates. During his visit, he took round of different barracks to inspect their condition and that of the protective. He enquired from the prisoners about quality of food, besides medical facilities being provided to them. On complaints, the minister directed the jail officials concerned that inmates should be produced in courts on their stipulated date so that their cases could be heard accordingly. Minister directed to beef up security in and around the jail. Earlier, talking to Media, Syed Nasir HussaiN Shah said that the prisoners presently inside the jail were excess than the jail capacity therefore the barracks of jail may be increased where all required facilities may be provided. He said that old law may be got updated while medical facilities of the prisoners may also be updated. The problems of prisoners facing inside the jail during winter and summer seasons may be got resolved, he said and added that the work of the boundary wall of the central prison Sukkur would be completed on priority basis. He said that the problems of the residential jail colony as well issues of salaries of jail staff would be resolved soon. Later, the Minister visited the jail hospital established inside the central prison Sukkur for provision of healthcare facilities to the prisoners and inquired from the jail prisoners admitted in the hospital about provision of medical facilities from the hospital administration.
