SIALKOT, Feb 16 (APP): The Provincial Minister of Human Rights and Minority Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine has said that the minorities have been enjoying their complete religious freedom in Pakistan and government was making all out sincere efforts to ensure provision and protection of these basic rights to the minorities.
The Provincial Minister HR&MA expressed these views while speaking during a special ceremony of distribution of Christmas Grant held at Jinnah House Paris Road Sialkot here today.
Provincial Minister said that the PTI government was becoming upto the expectations of the people besides fulfilling its all the public promises and commitments as well.
He said that PTI’s government is dedicated to provide equal opportunities to the religious minorities.
The minister said that the government is keen on chalking out a policy for construction of worship places of minorities and the minorities Empowerment package will help marginalised religious communities of Punjab.
He said that upcoming Minority Empowerment package will open the door of prosperity for minorities in the Punjab.
He said that the Government of Punjab is committed to protecting the rights of minorities and for this purpose, a number of concrete steps have been taken, besides legislation and the execution of special initiatives.
Minister said that the PTI government’s positive and effective economical policies were bearing the fruits and the desired results besides bringing day by day betterment in national economical indicators.
On this Occasion, MNA (Minorities) Shunila Ruth said that the government will resolve all the perturbing problems of the minorities amicably on priority.
She said that the minorities were also playing pivotal role in national development, prosperity, peace and unity.
MNA (Minorities) Shunila Ruth, Provincial Minister for Special Education Punjab Ch. Muhammad Ikhlaq, MPA’s Syeda Farah Azami, Haroon Gill, President PTI Central Punjab Umer Dar, and SVP PTI’s Youth Wing (Minorities) Central Punjab Dr. John Mehboob Piyara.and Local Christian community was present in the ceremony.
Later, Provincial Minister of HR & MA Ijaz Alam Augustine distributed financial assistance’s cheques worth Rs17, 35, 000 among 347 Christian families from all the four tehsils (Sialkot, Samiral, Daska and Pasrur) of Sialkot District.
He said that the initiative would provide relief to the deserving women of the minority community.
