Presidents attends convocation of International Islamic University

ISLAMABAD, March 13 (APP): President Dr. Arif Alvi on Wednesday said that Muslims are truly becoming a Ummah and are transforming into stronger nations.

He expressed his views while addressing at convocation of International Islamic University in Islamabad. In his remarks, he said Pakistani nation has endured many tests and tribulations and is embarked on a path to become a better nation. He said learning is a lifelong process and it gives the guidelines to lead one’s life successfully.

Dr. Arif Alvi expressed hope that students will become a useful asset of society after graduating. The president said our nation and armed forces have rendered matchless sacrifices to overcome the menace of terrorism.

He said Pakistan welcomed over 3.5 million Afghan refugees generously which is unparalleled and unique in the world. Referring to Pakistan’s desire for peace, Dr Arif Alvi said Pakistan handed over captured Indian pilot as peace gesture for de-escalation with India. He urged Indian government to avoid hatred as it will negatively affect the people of both countries. The President also conferred upon degrees to the graduating students and distributed gold medals among the distinction holders.
