There is urgency to create happiness through sports: President Alvi

KARACHI, March16 (APP): President Dr. Arif Alvi on Saturday urged to create happiness through sports as global environment threatened was being threatened by incidents of anarchism and terrorism.  He expressed his views while addressing a reception hosted by the Governor of Sindh, Imran Ismail in the honor of finalist teams of Pakistan Super League (PSL-4).On this occasion , he said it is a collective responsibility of all to revive cricket in Pakistan. “We want complete revival of cricket in our country and Pakistan is definitely a good place where cricket must be revived,” said by President Alvi.

He expressed his confidence that as committed by PM Imran Khan all PSL matches would be played on home grounds from next year.

President Alvi on the occasion also paid glowing tributes to Sir Vivian Richards and other foreign players in the ceremony.

President Alvi also congratulated PCB President, Ehsan Mani and his team for successfully organizing the PSL-4.

Governor of Sindh, Imran Ismail, on this occasion, thanked the President, Dr. Alvi for attending reception. Governor Sindh Imran Ismail assured that all kind of cooperation will be extended for promoting sports especially cricket and holding such kind of tournaments in the country.

Later, the President of Pakistan also presented traditional shawls and caps (ajrak and topis) to the players and officials of PSL-4.
