TAUNTON, June 11 (APP): Pakistan cricket team Tuesday was forced to have an indoor practice session as the outfield was declared dangerous for the cricketers due to overnight rain at the County Ground, Taunton.

Due to non-availability of the ground, only five players including Babar Azam, Asif Ali, Sarfraz Ahmed, Muhamamd Hasnain and Imam ul Haq opted for the indoor practice at the County Ground facility. Head Coach Mickey Arthur supervised the practice session during which the player’s only batting and bowling practice was undertaken by the players.

Pakistan is due to play their fourth match of the CWC 19 against Australia on June 12 (Wednesday).

Weather relented a bit on Tuesday morning as the overnight rain stopped and the ground staff got a chance to dry down the square around the pitch. The ground men also prepared the pitch in the afternoon.

As per the weather pundits here, the rain may return in the afternoon around 4 pm which may influence the game.

Pakistan is placed 8th with 3 points and desperately need a win against Australia to brighten their chances of a semi-final berth. Since Pakistan are very low on the current run rate (-2.412), would not serve their cause at all.
