Continuous fight against serious diseases required




LAHORE, Aug 4 (APP): Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that continuous fight against hepatitis, dengue and polio was required to get rid of these diseases.

Addressing the launching ceremony of Volunteer Force Against Hepatitis Transmission (VFAHT) and seminar on Hepatitis held at 90 Shahrah-e-Quaid-i-Azam in collaboration with Pakistan Kidney Liver Institute and Research Centre

(PKLI) on Thursday, he said that with the grace of Almighty Allah this year there was no case of polio in Punjab.

He said:” Work on Safe blood has been started and we are moving toward legislation in this regard.” He further said that data of blood banks were being collected.

An awareness would be created among the masses which would help prevent spread of the disease, he added.

Prof Saeed Akhtar said that it was a pleasure to see the evolution of young students from all disciplines uniting together under the banner of VFAHT.

He congratulated all the team leaders for their hard work.
