PM announces billion rupees’ projects for Chitral

ISLAMABAD, Sept 7 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Wednesday announced billions of rupees mega projects for Chitral.
Addressing to a public gathering, the Prime Minister announced for establishing university for the people of Chitral. “In past, no one considered for Chitral,” he said while announcing that more projects are ahead including power generation, health and infrastructure.
It is worth mentioning here that PM Nawaz Sharif is visiting Chitral to review progress on various development projects.
PM Sharif also announced special grant of Rs17 billion for construction of roads, concretization of streets and establishing markets/ bazaars. “In last three years we provided Rs10 billion and Rs8 billion will be provided next year” announced the Prime Minister while expressing government’s commitment for development of the area.
The Prime Minister further said that Lowari Tunnel project would be completed by June next. “The project remained pending for the last 55 years,” he said adding that present government would not leave any effort to serve the people.
Moreover, the Prime Minister inaugurated 108MW Golen Gol Hydropower Plant (GGHPP), which would provide electricity to 100 villages of Chitral.
Further to other projects, the Prime Minister also announced construction of a 250 beds modern hospital under PM’s Health initiatives.
PM Sharif said the government was working hard on development projects without considering hostility expressed by opponents. He said government believes in serving the people for what it has been cooperating with all provincial governments. “We respect the mandate of all governments” said the Prime Minister.
