President addresses at IIUI

ISLAMABAD, Feb 21 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain has said that responsibility rests with the educational institutions to instill true Islamic values and ideology in the youth.

Addressing a function at International Islamic University in Islamabad on Tuesday, he pointed out that Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah currently are faced with many challenges and there is need to combat them collectively.

He said Islam preaches the message of peace and harmony but it is regrettable that certain elements tried to distort the image through nefarious acts. He said it is the responsibility of higher educational institutions to acquaint the youth with their Islamic values and culture.

The President underlined the need for research based education in order to meet the modern day requirements. He said there is also need to review the curriculum and add new subjects in order to prepare the youth for future challenges.

The President said quality education is the integral source of Human Resource Development and no nation can achieve long term progress without achieving this end.

He urged the teachers and parents to focus on mental grooming of the youth on our own cultural and traditional lines.

He emphasized that students should utilize the enabling environment provided by educational institution s and should particularly work hard excel in science and technology.

Mamnoon Hussain said the country is today on a positive trajectory fulfilling the dreams of its founding fathers.

He said the Government is putting forth efforts in different key sectors of development.

He said CPEC is the miracle of 21st century and any propaganda in this way should not be given space to hinder the project.

He said every citizen should play his due role in cooperating with the Government in the implementation of development projects.
