ISLAMABAD, March 14 (APP): Pakistan Army, Pakistan WAPDA, Sindh and Punjab qualified for semi finals of the National Women Netball Championship organized by Pakistan Netball Federation in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Board at Pakistan Sports Complex here Tuesday.
The semi-finals will be played on Wednesday where Pakistan Army will face Punjab and Pakistan WAPDA will played against the defending champions Sindh.
Total eleven teams across the country are taking part in the tournament including Pakistan Army, Sindh, Pakistan Police, FATA, Balochistan, Pakistan WAPDA, Pakistan Air-force, Punjab, KPK, Islamabad and Gilgit Baltistan.
In today’s women event Sindh beat Punjab by 32-13, Anum Salam and Quratalan shows outstanding performance and scored 16 each goals each.
Pakistan WAPDA beat Balochistan by 30-2, Gilgit beat KPK by 16-13, Islamabad beat Balochistan by 25-2, Punjab beat Gilgit by 30-5, Sindh beat KPK 53-0 goals.
Earlier, in men competition Punjab beat Gilgit by 30-9, Pakistan WAPDA beat Islamabad by 40-8, Pakistan Air Force beat KPK by 41-20, Pakistan Army beat FATA by 52-14, Sindh beat Balochistan by 19-7, KPK beat Gilgit by 27-7 and Punjab beat Islamabad by 44-13.
It is pertinent to mention here that the concluding ceremony of the Championship to be held on 16th March, Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada is expected to be the chief guest at concluding ceremony.
