NA body on Overseas Pakistanis meets


ISLAMABAD, March 31 (APP): The National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis Friday met with MNA Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan in the chair here at the Parliament House.
The committee took serious notice of absence of representative of Frontier Work Organisation (FWO). The committee was briefed by DG (HRA) regarding the achievements and progress of OPF Housing Scheme Zone-V, Japan Road Islamabad. The committee showed dissatisfaction and mentioned reservations over the performance of OPF management.
The NA committee was informed that the land litigation issues have been resolved, but 407 kanals of land has remained unsettled in Islamabad High Court.
The committee asked the FWO to undertake development of 100 kanals of land which was recently handed over to OPF. The committee recommended that senior officials of FWO may ensure their presence in next meeting.
The committee asked that the OPF may resolve the remaining land issues as early as possible.
The Committee was informed that 10,000 gallons of water has arranged for the OPF Housing Scheme in the next six months. The plots will be given to the 120 allottees with all residential facilities.
The Committee directed the Land Acquisition Collector (LAC) to ensure the handing over possession of 25 kanals, 15 marlas of land to OPF for the installation of tube-well.
The NA body recommended that the issue of water supply pipeline and the construction of tube-well may be become visible on priority basis.
