ISLAMABAD, Sep 13 (APP): Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said the Film and Broadcasting Policy will be announced soon to help promote soft image of Pakistan.
She was inaugurating Asia Peace Film Festival at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) here Wednesday.
The Minister said founder of the country envisioned Pakistan as a democratic and stable country where rights of all citizens are protected. She said Pakistan is peace-loving country but regretted that its image has been affected by the menace of terrorism and there is dire need to highlight Pakistan’s soft image through activities like this peace film festival.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said the objective of the festival is to show-case rich culture, art, heritage and history of the country, south Asian region and promoting peace.
The festival will start on 18th September and will end on 20th. More than 900 entries are reported to be included in the festival. Artist from many countries are showcased in different films and documentaries. Total 100 films will be screened in PNCA during festival.
Talking to APP, creative and technical directors expressed hope that the festival will provide opportunities to Pakistani and International artists and film makers to prove their talent.
