Ambassador of Turkmenistan calls on the Prime Minister

ISLAMABAD, Oct 16 (APP): the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atadjan Nurlyevich Movlamov here on Monday paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Prime Minister noted that Pakistan and Turkmenistan traditionally enjoy close, cordial relations marked by trust and understanding. Bilateral collaboration in different sectors has been growing steadily.
The Prime Minister said that there is a room for attaining optimum level of economic cooperation between Pakistan and Turkmenistan. Both the countries should set the goal of increased engagement in trade, investment and other areas, further expressed the Prime Minister. Pakistan and Turkmenistan are engaged in the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, which holds huge potential for meeting Pakistan’s energy needs. The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to early operationalization of TAPI gas pipeline project.
It also appreciated that the two countries are focused on measures for enhanced connectivity including air and land linkages to promote trade, travel, tourism and people-to-people contacts.
