Courtesy call on the Prime Minister by Ambassador of Azerbaijan

ISLAMABAD, Oct 09 (APP): Ali Alizada, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the Prime Minister’s Office here Monday. This was the first courtesy call on the newly elected Prime Minister by the Azeri Ambassador.
The Prime Minister noted that Pakistan and Azerbaijan traditionally enjoy close, cordial relations marked by trust and understanding. Bilateral collaboration in different sectors has been growing steadily. He also appreciated the visit of H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan to participate in the 13th ECO Summit held on 1st March 2017 in Islamabad
Prime Minister appreciated Azerbaijan’s continued support on the Jammu & Kashmir dispute and appreciated Azerbaijan’s invaluable role in the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir. Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s principled position on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
The Prime Minister expressed desire that efforts be made to attain the optimum level of economic cooperation. Prime Minister expressed an aspiration that both countries should set the goal of concluding agreements of Preferential Tariff and Trade, investment, energy and other areas of economic cooperation.
