ISLAMABAD Jan. 17 (APP): The National Assembly met today with Speaker Asad Qaiser in the Chair at Parliament House.
Minister of Defence Pervaiz Khattak told the House that the provincial Assembly elections in tribal districts will be held before June this year.
He said the tribal areas will be brought at par with other developed areas of the country.
He said a committee of the House should also be constituted to discuss matters pertaining to the tribal areas.
Responding to the statement of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Minister of Communication Murad Saeed criticized the performance of the previous governments.
He said the incumbent government is formulating policies to steer the country out of economic crisis.
He said over the last four months, we have provided shelters to those who used to spend their nights under the open sky.
Earlier Taking the floor, Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan’s young democracy has made many advances with peaceful democratic transitions of power over the last ten years.
The PPP Chairman, however, said no compromise will be made on the economic, human and democratic rights of people.
The House now has been adjourned to meet again tomorrow morning at 10.30 a.m.
