110,000 Iftar meals to be served daily during Ramadan in Holy Mosque

Makkah Al Mukarrama (KSA) April 25 (APP): During the holy month of Ramadan 110,000 Iftar meal will be served on daily basis during the whole month of Ramadan in Masjid Al Haram.

This was announced by the General President of the Presidency for the Affairs of the two Holy Mosques Sheikh Dr. Abdurrahman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Sudais on Thursday in a press conference.

He informed the operational‏ plan includes provision of 10,225 wheel chairs and 1500 electric wheelchairs for the pilgrims. 210 doors would be operational to ease the entry and exit for the visitors of the Mosque, he informed adding 25,000 Zamzam canteens and 34,591 praying carpets would be set up in same regard.

Sheikh Al-Sudais told operational plan for the Holy month of Ramadan included 10 main areas to enhance the work during the month with main focus on the guidance and the scholarly axe which was concerned with the preparation and coordination of the academic studies, and also guiding the visitors of the Holy Mosque. He confirmed the operational plan focused on development, renewal, and the coverage of the services with paying close attention to the standards and the indicator factors to enhance the strength via cyclical, seasonal, and field working, and broadcasting through media.

He said 1500 permits have been issued for Iftar meals inside Haram.

The plan will be implemented by 14 departments including guiding and directing ‘religious knowledge and affairs  ‘information technology ‘Field supervision’ safety and security and topmost priority of crowd control, he added. Moreover social services, king Abdul Aziz Center for Kiswa public relations ‘and women services would also be among the service delivery departments.  Nearly 1200 employees including official employees would be taking part for cleaning and maintenance of the Haram, he said.

Sheikh Al-Sudais further informed that the two Holy Mosques were seeing an increase in numbers of visitors during The month of Ramadan . The presidency of the two Holy Mosques was striving for its best efforts in serving the pilgrims, he said.
