KARACHI, Apr. 23 (APP): President Dr. Arif Alvi has expressed his absolute confidence that the efforts being made by the government to bolster national economy would soon have trickle own effect on the well being of masses.
Talking to a delegation of businessmen, who called on him at Sindh Governor House here on Tuesday, he said revival of economy is the top priority of the government and every section of the society, including business community, has to contribute towards the cause.
President Alvi in this context referred to measures being adopted for business and investment friendly environment in the country, and emphasised that it was prerequisite for country’s progress and prosperity.
He said the industrialists and businessmen of the country need to focus on export-oriented products as it was pivotal for the economic stability.
Mentioning that Pakistan had faced numerous challenges during the past few years with dire implications on business community too, he said contribution of the community towards national development cannot be ignored.
“I am confident that the community would continue to play their proactive role for progress and prosperity of the country,” said the President.
The delegation led by a senior business leader, Mian Zahid, included businessmen associated with textile, leather and other major industrial sectors.
They discussed in detail the functioning of district chambers and offered suggestions for improving the economic structure and business environment in the country.
