ISLAMABAD, May 2 (APP): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Thursday said Radio Pakistan was the real face of Pakistan and Prime Minister Imran Khan was committed to strengthen it.
She was speaking at a musical programme of Radio Pakistan’s Dhanak Channel here at the National Broadcasting House.
The PM’s Special Assistant said Radio Pakistan was voice of the nation and custodian of the country’s ideological frontiers. The Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) was playing a pivotal role in highlighting the identity and civilization of Pakistan.
She said Radio Pakistan was acting as a bridge in connecting Pakistan with rest of the world.
She said the government was fully determined to put Radio Pakistan on the modern lines at par with the latest broadcasting organizations in order to provide impetus to its effectiveness.
She said Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted to bring reforms in all the state institutions to make them stronger and stable.
Dr Firdous said the greatest challenge faced by Pakistan at international level was its perception. “We have to correct the perception and bring true face of the country before the world.”
She said Radio Pakistan was playing its due role in making Pakistan an enlightened, progressive and moderate country.
Dr Firdous said the government was committed to strengthen Radio Pakistan’s financial position. She said Radio Pakistan was no more a liability rather an asset of the country.
She emphasized the need for making all the institutions of Pakistan active by making them profitable entities to strengthen the national economy. “Together we have to make Pakistan a prosperous country.”
Dr Firdous said the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) were opting for self-exile in London to conceal their corrupt deeds. The stance of Prime Minister Imran Khan had proven accurate as the PML-N had decided to nominate Rana Tanveer Hussain as Public Accounts Committee chairman.
