PM Imran meets with business community in Karachi

KARACHI, July 10 (APP): A delegation of business community comprising representatives of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Automotive Parts Association on Wednesday held a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan at Governor House.

During the meeting, Prime Minister expressed that Government is taking serious steps to improve the socio-economic conditions of people and trying to address the concerns of business community.

He also expressed that his main aim to visit Karachi is to address the problems faced by the business community.

Imran Khan said our top priority is to alleviate poverty and promote economic activity. For this, he said we need the cooperation of businessmen.

He said the business community should work as a partner with the government.

The delegation presented before the Prime Minister various proposals pertaining to reforms in tax system, enhancement in revenue,  checking inflation and smuggling, ease of doing business, promotion of investment and generation of job opportunities.

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi, Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda, Minister for Revenue Hammad Azhar, Adviser on Commerce Razak Dawood and Adviser on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Adviser on Institutional Reforms Dr Ishrat Hussain, Chairman FBR Shabbar Zaidi, Chairman Board of Investment Syed Zubair Haider Gilani and Governor State Bank of Pakistan Reza Baqir were also present on the occasion.
