ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday said that the relief provided to PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif by the court is interim and it does not mean ending of sentence.

She expressed her views while addressing a news conference in Islamabad.

She also said that the sentence has been suspended by court on medical grounds and it is linked with all the health indicators of a patient. She also clarified that government of Pakistan was not a party in this case and NAB is an independent institution.

“NAB arrested Nawaz Sharif and his case is being handled in NAB Courts and government has no control over activities or institution of NAB” she further added.

She said the court took into consideration all the factors while awarding the interim relief. It is the prerogative of the court to provide this bail.

She expressed that awarding and suspending of sentence to any criminal lies with the courts, and government has nothing to do with it.
