ISLAMABAD, Dec 18 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday chaired the mmeting of core committee of Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaaf in Islamabad. After the meeting, while briefing the media at a press conference, Special Assistant to PM on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that imporant decisions have been taken in the core committee of PTI. She said that Pakistan is an important country in the world and will continue to play its role for the unity and harmony among the Muslim countries. She highlighted the important aspects about postponement of Pakistan’s participation in a conference of Muslim countries being taking place in Malaysia.
Regarding recent decision of the Special Court regarding former President Pervez Musharraf, She said that after consultation with legal team of the party and then viewing this matter in the Cabinet and then government would have any formal stance regarding this issue.
The Special Assistant said the core committee gave a task to the parliamentary committee to resolve the issue of appointment of Chief Election Commissioner in consultation with Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan also stated that the core committee has condemned the controversial and discriminatory Citizenship Act imposed by the Indian government to target Muslims. She said Imran Khan, during his speech at the refugee conference in Geneva, showed the real face of India, committing atrocities on innocent Kashmiris.
While replying to a question, Dr.Firdous Ashiq briefed that request of the PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz to go abroad will be treated as per law.
