ISLAMABAD, Sep 5 (APP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has stressed the need for promoting culture of charity for the welfare of the poor.
He was addressing a ceremony at Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital in Rawalpindi held in connection with International Day of Charity being observed on Monday.
The minister said charity funds should be used on welfare work like promotion of education, medical treatment of the poor and alleviation of poverty.
He said charity funds should not be used for division among the people, promotion of extremist thinking, terrorism and other ills. He said there is a need for awareness campaign in this regard.
He said we all should work for a peaceful Pakistan, region and the world and welfare of the people particularly the poor.
Pervaiz Rashid said people can announce after death donations of their organs including eyes to help others.
