{"id":111083,"date":"2019-04-29T19:10:27","date_gmt":"2019-04-29T14:10:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/?p=111083"},"modified":"2019-04-29T19:10:27","modified_gmt":"2019-04-29T14:10:27","slug":"ministers-pledged-achieving-10-bln-trees-target-by-tenure-end","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/2019\/04\/ministers-pledged-achieving-10-bln-trees-target-by-tenure-end\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministers pledged achieving 10 bln trees target by tenure-end"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 696px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-111083-1\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/CAA-Plantation-By-Federal-Minister-PM-clean-Green-Pakistan.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/CAA-Plantation-By-Federal-Minister-PM-clean-Green-Pakistan.mp4\">http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/CAA-Plantation-By-Federal-Minister-PM-clean-Green-Pakistan.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>ISLAMABAD, Apr 29 (APP):Federal Ministers on Monday reiterated the government\u2019s resolve to expand forest cover in the country presenting a green carpet look with the assistance of the masses and public-private partnership.<\/p>\n<p>Inaugurating the Prime Minister Imran Khan\u2019s Clean and Green Pakistan campaign at Islamabad International Airport (IIA) here, the ministers vowed to accomplish the target of planting 10 billion trees by the end of the government\u2019s tenure.<\/p>\n<p>Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul and Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda formally initiated the tree-plantation drive of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) by planting the saplings of Magnolia plant species.<\/p>\n<p>Ghulam Sarwar said unfortunately, nobody had realized the strength of \u2018Clean and Green Pakistan\u2019 vision in the past and Prime Minister Imran Khan was the only leader who introduced this project in the country.<\/p>\n<p>He said clean drinking water, air and environment were the unalienable rights of every citizen of the country and the government was committed to change the country\u2019s status from green to greenest in its remaining four years.<\/p>\n<p>Sarwar Khan said the environment of rural areas of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi was far cooler than the federal capital, quoting the example of his village (Pind Nushahri), he said \u201cI prefer to stay in my own native town than Minister Enclave in Islamabad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTree is your best friend and plant trees in your surroundings as I have planted as many as 12,000 fruit plants in my village so far,\u201d he said while urging the public to actively participate in this noble cause.<\/p>\n<p>The minister announced to alter the IIA\u2019s 3,600 acres plane area into green and pledged to start this campaign at every national airport including Karachi, Lahore and Sialkot.<\/p>\n<p>Zartaj Gul said the clean and green drive was not a star project rather it was the name of behavioral change movement and expressed her resolve to bring behavioral changes by launching marathon awareness campaigns under the clean and green initiative.<\/p>\n<p>She said the country was blessed with beautiful landscapes, biodiversity and four seasons, regretting that the previous regimes did not pay heed to leverage those blessings.<\/p>\n<p>At present, Zartaj said her ministry was confronting at different fronts ranging from timber mafia, illegal trade of wildlife to smuggling of migratory birds.<\/p>\n<p>She underscored the importance of inter-ministerial cooperation to achieve the government\u2019s endeavours, aimed at the welfare and betterment of the people of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Zartaj also sought the support of people and corporate societies for making Clean and Green Pakistan a success.<\/p>\n<p>Faisal Vawda said his ministry had intensified its efforts to build the dams and small water reservoirs to overcome the water scarcity issue in the country which was also among one of the big concerns of the government at this stage.<\/p>\n<p>VNS, Islamabad<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Apr 29 (APP):Federal Ministers on Monday reiterated the government\u2019s resolve to expand forest cover in the country presenting a green carpet look with the assistance of the masses and public-private partnership.
