\nNEW YORK, Sep 20 (APP): Pakistan and Japan have agreed to commence talks for a free trade agreement between the two countries.<\/p>\nAn understanding to this effect was emerged at a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe at the sidelines of UN General Assembly session in New York on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister said current bilateral ties between the two countries need to be deepened.<\/p>\n
He said that Pakistan has huge potential for investment in diverse fields and Japan can bring the capacity to produce value added goods and also benefit while investing in diverse fields.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister said Japan is one of Pakistan\u2019s largest trading partners with annual bilateral trade of 1.86 billion dollars and this trade needs to be enhanced.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister apprised his Japanese counterpart about the gross human rights violations of Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir.<\/p>\n
He urged Japan to impress upon India to strop persecution in held valley and play its role for granting Kashmiris their right to self determination as per UN resolutions.<\/p>\n
Japanese Prime Minister also expressed grave concern over atrocities in occupied Kashmir.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister said with the improvement of security situation economic activity has witnessed growth.<\/p>\n
Nawaz sharif said Operation Zarb-e-Azb and National Action Plan have helped significantly in curbing terrorism and further improved law and order situation.<\/p>\n
Japanese Prime Minister on this occasion appreciated Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism and acknowledged economic reforms of the government.<\/p>\n
