{"id":125719,"date":"2019-09-17T20:21:30","date_gmt":"2019-09-17T15:21:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/?p=125719"},"modified":"2019-09-17T22:55:48","modified_gmt":"2019-09-17T17:55:48","slug":"president-stresses-upon-effective-prevention-of-drugs-use","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/2019\/09\/president-stresses-upon-effective-prevention-of-drugs-use\/","title":{"rendered":"President stresses upon effective prevention of drugs use"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 696px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-125719-1\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Replace-President-inaugurates-Project-Amaan-17-09-2019.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Replace-President-inaugurates-Project-Amaan-17-09-2019.mp4\">https:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Replace-President-inaugurates-Project-Amaan-17-09-2019.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>ISLAMABAD, Sep 17 (APP):President Dr Arif Alvi Tuesday said that narcotics prevalence across the globe still posed a threat to the human lives and stressed upon focusing on the preventive methods to keep the drugs out of the reach of addicts as long-term curative measures.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a launching ceremony of \u2018Am\u2019aan\u2019 project, an artificial intelligence based data system, at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the president said the narcotics control was still a complex challenge for the world as billions of dollars were being spent over it.<\/p>\n<p>Appreciating the efficacy of the &#8216;Am&#8217;aan&#8217; project, the president said it was much needed project to tap the artificial intelligence for controlling the drug abuse in which enormous efforts were put.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed upon effective prevention of drugs use, so that the addictive people could be taken out of this scourge.<\/p>\n<p>The president also traced the emergence of synthetic drugs which had put the western countries into a crisis.<\/p>\n<p>The president said now, the synthetic drugs were being manufactured leading to several deaths and destroying huge number of families.<\/p>\n<p>The use of narcotics in Pakistan had increased after the Afghan war, he said, adding Afghanistan was still a major source of narcotics production.<\/p>\n<p>The president observed that there should be adequate health centers with proper treatment methods and emphasized that the best method was to keep drugs away from the addictive people.<\/p>\n<p>He regretted that the people who became addicts not only destroyed themselves, but also damaged their families and such scenario was unfortunate one.<\/p>\n<p>The president noted that early diagnosis of an addictive person was crucial for treatment than the later stage.<\/p>\n<p>The president also appreciated efforts of Minister for Frontier Region and Narcotics Control Shehryar Khan Afridi.<\/p>\n<p>He also noted with alarm that a large number of students were using some kind of drugs which were addictive.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>VNS Islamabad<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Sep 17 (APP):President Dr Arif Alvi Tuesday said that narcotics prevalence across the globe still posed a threat to the human lives and stressed upon focusing on the preventive methods to keep the drugs out of the reach of addicts as long-term curative measures.
