{"id":20276,"date":"2017-01-24T14:18:09","date_gmt":"2017-01-24T14:18:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/?p=20276"},"modified":"2017-01-24T14:18:09","modified_gmt":"2017-01-24T14:18:09","slug":"president-stresses-devising-education-system-in-coherence-with-national-objectives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/2017\/01\/president-stresses-devising-education-system-in-coherence-with-national-objectives\/","title":{"rendered":"President stresses devising education system in coherence with national objectives"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 696px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-20276-1\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/x-flv\" src=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Presiden-cg-at-National-conference-on-improving-SSC-HSSC-Examination.flv?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Presiden-cg-at-National-conference-on-improving-SSC-HSSC-Examination.flv\">http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Presiden-cg-at-National-conference-on-improving-SSC-HSSC-Examination.flv<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>ISLAMABAD, Jan 24 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday<br \/>\nstressed formulating an education system keeping in view its<br \/>\ncoherence with national objectives.<br \/>\nAddressing the National conference on examination system here at the<br \/>\nAllama Iqbal Open University, the President said a strong<br \/>\neducational foundation could help the students effectively deal with<br \/>\nthe challenges of life.<br \/>\nThe President said Matric and Intermediate are an important<br \/>\nstages in a student\u2019s life and can make or break his or her future.<br \/>\nHe pointed that prevailing examination system in the country<br \/>\nwas based on testing the children\u2019s capability by their memory<br \/>\ninstead of judging them by their knowledge and skills.<br \/>\nHe observed the current education and examination system were<br \/>\ndisseminating information only rather than encouraging the students<br \/>\nfind new avenues of knowledge by using research methods.<br \/>\nHe called for in-depth analysis of the current examination<br \/>\nsystem and stressed the need to point out its weaknesses and bring<br \/>\nforward proposals for its improvement.<br \/>\nThe President emphasized on addressing the issues faced by<br \/>\nstudents every year during examinations, particularly complaints<br \/>\nabout post-result alterations, sub-standard checking and missing of<br \/>\nroll number slips.<br \/>\nHe said avoiding resolution of such issues could create despondency in<br \/>\nstudents, the negative effects of which does not restrict to<br \/>\neducation and examination system only, but also leaves impact on<br \/>\nnational life as well.<br \/>\nPresident Mamnoon termed the educational experts dealing with<br \/>\nthe sensitive matters of examinations and results as equally<br \/>\nimportant as doctors and soldiers.<br \/>\nHe called for making continuous improvement in examination<br \/>\nsystem by learning from the experiences of modern world and to make<br \/>\nit more practical.<br \/>\nThe President said the objective of education is to groom the<br \/>\nnew generation in a way so as to prepare them serve the country and<br \/>\nnation.<br \/>\nThose nations were successful that kept national objectives<br \/>\nforemost in the upbringing of their children, he added.<br \/>\nHe regretted that the current syllabus lacked giving knowledge<br \/>\nto students about national and global history, geography and values.<br \/>\nThe President said earlier governments wasted precious time of<br \/>\nthe nation by paying no heed to development projects particularly<br \/>\nrelated to energy, education and health.<br \/>\nHe said the country\u2019s internal and external debt amounted to<br \/>\nRs 6,700 in 2008 which climbed upto Rs 14,800 billion at the time<br \/>\npresent government assumed office.<br \/>\nHe said a bright future was awaiting Pakistan as the<br \/>\ngovernment had launched several development projects of dams,<br \/>\nnuclear energy and alternative energy of wind and solar.<br \/>\nThe President gave away shields to Federal Minister for Inter-<br \/>\nprovincial coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Secretary Ministry of<br \/>\nInter-provincial Coordination Raja Nadir Ali, Vice Chancellor Allama<br \/>\nIqbal Open University Dr Shahid Siddiqi and Secretary Inter Board<br \/>\nCommittee of Chairmen (IBCC) Muhammad Ramzan Achakzai.<\/p>\n<p>APP\/Zaheer\/VNS, Islamabad<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Jan 24 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday stressed formulating an education system keeping in view its coherence with national objectives.
