{"id":21887,"date":"2017-02-13T13:56:43","date_gmt":"2017-02-13T13:56:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/?p=21887"},"modified":"2017-02-13T13:56:43","modified_gmt":"2017-02-13T13:56:43","slug":"international-maritime-conference-concludes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/2017\/02\/international-maritime-conference-concludes\/","title":{"rendered":"International Maritime Conference concludes"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 696px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-21887-1\" width=\"696\" height=\"557\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/x-flv\" src=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Maritime-Conference-Khi-13-02-2017.flv?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Maritime-Conference-Khi-13-02-2017.flv\">http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Maritime-Conference-Khi-13-02-2017.flv<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>KARACHI, Feb 13 (APP): China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is rightfully considered as a game changer not only for Pakistan but for the economic development and prosperity of the entire region.<br \/>\nThis was stated by Defence Minister of Pakistan, Khawaja Muhammad<br \/>\nAsif, at the closing ceremony of 7th International Maritime Conference<br \/>\norganized by National Centre for Maritime Policy Research (NCMPR).<br \/>\nThe International Maritime Conference, held in tandem with<br \/>\nMultinational Exercise AMAN 17, concluded after three days of<br \/>\ndeliberations on maritime security, economy and marine environment.<br \/>\nThe minister said that a large number of public and private sector<br \/>\nparticipants from Pakistan and around the world created an ideal opportunity for the exchange of ideas, a PN statement issued here on Monday said.<br \/>\nWhile addressing the audience, the chief guest Khawaja Muhammad<br \/>\nAsif stated that the Indian Ocean has emerged as a key arena of<br \/>\ngeopolitics as strategic interests of the world are routed in this<br \/>\nregion.<br \/>\nThe overwhelming reliance on the sea routes and increasing volume<br \/>\nof global sea borne trade has enhanced the importance of Indian ocean<br \/>\nregion for the world community.<br \/>\nHe further said that with the operationalization of CPEC and<br \/>\nGwadar Port, maritime activities would increase exponentially in North<br \/>\nArabian Sea and beyond. Consequently, the responsibilities of Pakistan<br \/>\nNavy would also increase for maintaining a secure maritime environment<br \/>\nfor smooth flow of sea trade.<br \/>\nHe acknowledged the maritime security initiatives taken by<br \/>\nPakistan Navy for ensuring peace and order at sea individually and in<br \/>\ncollaboration with the partner navies.<br \/>\nHe also appreciated convening of the conference which is a step<br \/>\nin the same direction and is indeed praiseworthy.<br \/>\nThe Minister assured that the recommendations of the conference<br \/>\nwill be given due consideration by the government and all possible<br \/>\nefforts will be made for their pursuance.<br \/>\nEarlier, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah in<br \/>\nhis closing remarks said that the initiatives of developing economic<br \/>\ncorridors and linking to maritime routes have provided impetus for<br \/>\neconomic integration of the regional countries and beyond.<br \/>\nHe further said that CPEC is one such development in the region<br \/>\nand with the operationalization of CPEC and Gwadar port the scope and<br \/>\npotential of blue economy will increase further.<br \/>\nThe Admiral also said that Maritime Security in the Indian Ocean<br \/>\nRegion has gained particular significance in the recent past due to<br \/>\nincreased dependence of the world on sea borne trade and quest for<br \/>\nenergy resources.
