\nBroadcasting and National Heritage, Marriyum Aurangzeb said on
\nSaturday that politics of maligning and pressurizing the national
\ninstitutions must be abandoned now.
\nShe was talking to the media after attending annual sports
\ngala of a school in Rawalpindi. Condemning the statement of PPP
\nleader Aitzaz Ahsan against the defence\u00a0 institutions defending
\ngeographical frontiers of Pakistan, she said that the\u00a0 Armed Forces,
\nconstitutional institutions and law enforcement agencies were pride
\nof the nation therefore\u00a0 such irresponsible utterances should be
\navoided in future.
\nThe minister remarked that the replies to the questions of JIT
\nhave to be given by the\u00a0 Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif\u00a0 but one failed
\nto understand why Imran felt\u00a0 so perturbed about it. She said that
\nin the next elections the people of Pakistan would totally reject
\nthe elements which were trying to disrupt the development agenda of
\nPrime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
\nMarriyum said that the opposition parties were weary of the
\npopularity of Nawaz Sharif because they knew that if the mega
\ndevelopment projects launched by the present government were
\ncompleted they would be wiped out of the political arena as their
\nhands were empty as far as\u00a0 development initiatives and service to
\nthe nation were concerned.
\nShe said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had created a new
\nhistory by presenting three generations of his family for
\naccountability and\u00a0\u00a0 answering questions about businesses
\nestablished by the family including his deceased father and
\nchildren.
\nTo a question,she said that\u00a0 the Sharif family had
\nprovided record of the businesses of Mian Sharif dating back to 45
\nto 50 years and if there was any gap in information, the JIT would
\nbe provided those details.
\nRejecting the assumption that the court had rejected letter of
\nQatari prince, she said that it was a verified document and the JIT
\nwould be satisfied about its authenticity.
\nShe reminded that when Imran made hue and cry of rigging after 2013
\nElections, the Prime Minister wrote a letter to the Supreme Court
\nfor formation of a commission to investigate the issue. She said
\nthat during sit-in and protest rallies, Imran Khan ridiculed the
\nnational and constitutional institutions and abused his political
\nopponents including the Prime Minister. When the judicial commission
\non alleged rigging\u00a0 announced its findings Imran Khan started
\nridiculing the national instituions.
\nShe said that Imran Khan used Panama leaks as political
\ncrutches and started targeting the Sharif family. She said that
\nPrime Minister Nawaz Sharif proposed formation of a JIT on the
\nPanama issue and then he wrote a letter to the Supreme Court for
\nformation of a commission. Now after one year and 17 days, the JIT
\nis being constituted which was endorsement of the PM’s stance.
\nShe said that answers to all questions related to Panama
\ncase would be provided in the JIT. She said that the JIT had not
\nbeen constituted on the basis of the prayers of the petitioners in
\nthe Panama\u00a0 case ,as all their prayers had been rejected by the
\ncourt as they were supported by useless documents
\ndownloaded from the internet. She made it clear\u00a0 that the Prime
\nMinister\u00a0 was given the mandate by the people of Pakistan and he was
\nanswerable to them and would not resign on the demand of anyone.
\nCriticising the PPP ledership,she said that after
\ncommitting record corruption in their tenure, they still had the
\naudacity to agitate on the issue of corruption which was not only
\nstrange but\u00a0 also a sign of the doomsday.
\nMarriyum rubbished the claims of Asif Zardar in a speech at
\nJhang\u00a0 yesterday that Prime Minister had failed to overcome the
\nenergy crisis in the country saying\u00a0 that during the last four years
\nrecord number of power projects had been launched and by next year
\nthe problem of load-shedding would be overcome.\u00a0 She reminded that
\nwhen PML-N came to power in 2013, the country was facing the threat
\nof default due to the PPP misrule but the\u00a0 present governemnt under
\nthe leadership of Nawaz Sharif stabilized the sick economy, revived
\nindustrial sector and launched historic health and educational
\nreforms programmes. If the PPP could clean Karachi city, ,it would
\nbe quite an achievement,she added.
\nThe minister said that Imran Khan in 2013 introduced the
\nculture of abusing the political opponents and ridiculing the
\nnational instituions. The minister said that recently the Election
\nCommission in its verdict wrote that Imran Khan was an un-civilised
\nperson and\u00a0 his party was trying to undermine the national
\ninstitutions.
\nThe minister said that media should highlight development
\nprojects launched by the present government to bring quantum change
\nin the lives of the common people.
\nShe said almost all political parties have governments in the
\nprovinces, so instead of indulging in leg pulling of the federal
\ngovernment they\u00a0 should strive to come up to the expectations of
\ntheir voters.
\nEarlier speaking\u00a0 as chief guest at the sports event of a
\nprivate school in Rawalpindi,she said that physical activities were
\nvital for improvement of mental capabilities of the students. She
\nsaid that PML-N government had taken several steps to\u00a0 promote
\nsports activities in the country and attract youth towards positive
\nactivities. She said that the Punjab government under leadership of
\nChief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had built many new sports grounds in
\nthe city to provide healthy entertainment to the youth.
\nThe minister said that promotion of national culture and heritage
\nwas responsibility of the school managements, teachers and parents
\nalike.
\nThe minister said that overall standard of education has
\nbeen improved in collaboration with the private sector. She said
\nthat curriculum of private sector schools was being reviewed. The
\nminister disclosed that the curricula of Punjab educational
\ninstitutions up to metricualtion was available\u00a0 online,\u00a0 which was
\nnot a mean achievement.
\nShe stressed the need for teaching the children human
\ntraits of patience and tolerance. Moreover the children should be
\ntaught about Quaid-e-Azam’s principles of unity,faith and
\ndiscipline,she added.
\nThe minister said that under Prime Minister’s educational
\nreforms programme, educational institutions in the capital territory
\nwere being upgraded and transportation and other facilities were
\nalso being provided to the students.
\nShe said Pakistanis were a brave and resilient nation which
\nhad been facing the scourge of terrorism for past over three decades
\nwith great courage..
\nShe said thanks to the steps taken by the present government the
\nsituation has vastly improved.<\/p>\n
