{"id":28707,"date":"2017-05-21T18:40:55","date_gmt":"2017-05-21T18:40:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/?p=28707"},"modified":"2021-03-22T15:51:07","modified_gmt":"2021-03-22T10:51:07","slug":"arab-islamic-countries-us-vow-to-stand-united-in-fighting-terrorism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/2017\/05\/arab-islamic-countries-us-vow-to-stand-united-in-fighting-terrorism\/","title":{"rendered":"Arab-Islamic countries, US vow to stand united in fighting terrorism"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 696px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-28707-1\" width=\"696\" height=\"522\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/x-flv\" src=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Summit-American-Arab.flv?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Summit-American-Arab.flv\">http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Summit-American-Arab.flv<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>RIYADH, May 21 (APP): Describing the global fight<br \/>\nagainst terrorism as a battle between \u201cgood and evil\u201d, the<br \/>\nworld leaders attending the Arab Islamic-American Summit<br \/>\nhosted by Saudi Arabia here on Sunday pledged to make joint<br \/>\nefforts to eliminate this scourge.<br \/>\nPrime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif attended the summit<br \/>\nat the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz.<br \/>\nSpeaking at the opening session of the summit, King<br \/>\nSalman bin Abdulaziz highlighted the need of making a joint<br \/>\nstrategy to deal with the common challenge of terrorism, which<br \/>\nwas a threat to world peace.<br \/>\nHe said the Kingdom, which had suffered due to<br \/>\nterrorism,<br \/>\nhad been successful in its efforts to curb the menace.<br \/>\nKing Salman also urged the Muslim and Western worlds to<br \/>\nutilise all resources to eliminate the scourge as without<br \/>\nachieving that, the goal of peace and prosperity as well as<br \/>\nsustained development could not be realised.<br \/>\nUS President Donald Trump, in his address, said<br \/>\nterrorism<br \/>\nwas not a war between different faiths, religions or sects,<br \/>\nbut<br \/>\n\u201ca battle between barbaric criminals, who seek to obliterate<br \/>\nhuman life, and decent people of all religions, who seek to<br \/>\nprotect it.\u201d<br \/>\nThe US President said, \u201cOur goal is a coalition of<br \/>\nnations, who share the aim of stamping out extremism and<br \/>\nproviding our children a hopeful future that does honour to<br \/>\nGod.\u201d<br \/>\nHe said, \u201cAmerica is a sovereign nation and our first<br \/>\npriority is always the safety and security of our citizens. We<br \/>\nare not here to lecture; we are not here to tell other people<br \/>\nhow to live, what to do, who to be, or how to worship.<br \/>\nInstead, we are here to offer partnership \u2013 based on shared<br \/>\ninterests and values \u2013 to pursue a better future for us all.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cEvery time a terrorist murders an innocent person, and<br \/>\nfalsely invokes the name of God, it should be an insult to<br \/>\nevery person of faith.<br \/>\n\u201cBut we can only overcome this evil if the forces of<br \/>\ngood<br \/>\nare united and strong \u2013 and if everyone in this room does<br \/>\ntheir<br \/>\nfair share and fulfills their part of the burden,\u201d President<br \/>\nTrump said.<br \/>\n\u201cTerrorism has spread across the world. But the path to<br \/>\npeace begins right here, on this ancient soil, in this sacred<br \/>\nland.<br \/>\n\u201cAmerica is prepared to stand with you \u2013 in pursuit of<br \/>\nshared interests and common security,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nLeaders from Jordan, Egypt, Indonesia, Kuwait and<br \/>\nMalaysia, in their remarks, also called for united efforts to<br \/>\nfight terrorism.
