\nWednesday chaired cabinet meeting, which approved a broad-based agenda including cooperation with other countries in air services, climate change, defence and financial intelligence.<\/p>\n
The cabinet approved accords for starting of negotiations on air services with aviation of other countries including Azerbaijan, Serbia, Vietnam and Brazil.
\nThe meeting gave ex-post facto approval to start
\nnegotiations and approval for signing of Memorandum of
\nUnderstanding between the Trade Development Authority of
\nPakistan (TDAP) and the respective departments of Kyrgyzstan,
\nTajikistan and Azerbaijan.
\nThe cabinet gave a nod to Doha Amendment to the Kyoto
\nProtocol (KP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on
\nClimate Change (UNFCCC), The meeting also approved MoU signing on cooperation in disaster management with Kazakhstan through National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Ministry of Climate Change.
\nApproval was given to cooperation in defence and technical training with the countries including Indonesia,Turkey, Thailand and Poland.
\nThe meeting ratified inter-governmental agreement on
\nCAREC Institute, Economic Affairs and an MoU with Cuba in the
\nfield of tourism and economic affairs.
\nThe cabinet approved signing of agreement on cooperation
\nin higher education and professional training with Turkey.
\nEx-post facto approval was given to Agreement between
\nRussian State University for the Humanities, Moscow and
\nNational University of Modern Language (NUML), Islamabad.
\nApproval was given to ratification of MoU between
\nFinancial Monitoring Unit (FMU) of Pakistan and Financial
\nIntelligence Unit (FIU) of Turkmenistan Concerning Cooperation
\nin exchange of financial intelligence related to money
\nlaundering and terrorist financing.
\nThe meeting also approved signing of MoU between State
\nBank of Pakistan (SBP) and Central Bank of the Russian
\nFederation (CBRF) on bilateral cooperation.
\nThe cabinet approved to commence negotiations on MoUs on
\nbilateral consultations with Foreign Affairs Ministries of
\nother countries including South Africa, Nigeria, Niger,
\nZimbabwe, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Senegal, Kenya and Romania.
\nThe meeting approved cooperation in the field of
\nagriculture and food security with Uzbekistan and Uganda.
\nThe meeting approved to start negotiations with the
\nGovernment of Kuwait for signing a MoU for petroleum
\nexploration in Pakistan.
\nThe cabinet approved to amend the existing convention
\nfor the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal
\nevasion of taxes on income with several countries including
\nTurkmenistan, Serbia, the United Kingdom, Mauritius,
\nTajikistan, Thailand, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, South Africa,
\nSouth Africa, Kuwait, Yemen, Japan, Bangladesh, Oman, Ukraine,
\nIran, Vietnam and Sudan.
\nThe meeting gave ex-post facto approval to start
\nnegotiations and approval for signing of MoU to develop
\nrelations in tourism between Pakistan and Maldives. Approval
\nwas also given to start negotiations on draft MoU for opening
\nof Defence Credit Line of US$10 million for Maldives.
\nAnother approval was given for signing of MoU by Civil
\nService Commission of Maldives with National School of Public
\nPolicy, Pakistan.
\nThe Cabinet approved commencement of negotiation of MoU
\nbetween the Foreign Services Academy (FSA) of Pakistan and the
\nForeign Service Institute (FOSIM) of Maldives.
\nThe Cabinet approved appointment of Managing Director
\nand Chief Executive Officer, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines
\nLimited (SNGPL), Petroleum and Natural Resources, besides
\napproval of terms and conditions of appointment of members of
\nGas and Oil, of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
\nThe meeting also ratified decisions taken by the Cabinet
\nCommittee on Energy in its meetings on 29-05-2017, 30-05-2017, besides those taken on 06-06-2017 and 30-05-2017.
\nThe Cabinet also ratified decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet, in its
\nmeeting held on 07-06-2017.
\nThe Cabinet ratified the decisions taken by the Economic
\nCoordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet, in its meeting held on 17-06-2017.
