Do not test it my<br \/>\nbrother,\u201d he said in a strong message to his opponents, while addressing<br \/>\nthe large gathering of people hailing from Chitral and Dir.<br \/>\nPrime Minister Sharif who earlier unveiled a plaque to<br \/>\ninaugurate the project said today some people were talking<br \/>\nabout his accountability.<br \/>\n\u201cThey are seeking accountability of a person who is<br \/>\nbuilding power plants, roads, infrastructure and changing the<br \/>\nlives of the people,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nPointing out the PTI, the prime minister said, \u201cIt is exploitation,<br \/>\nnot accountability. No one in Pakistan will accept it. I have always asked what corruption have I done? Have I got some commission by selling trees, Did I get kickbacks of billions in Lowari Tunnel, in new roads, or power projects?<br \/>\nOn the contrary, we saved Rs168 billion in three power projects.I cannot<br \/>\ntolerate such ridiculous allegations against me. For me, my respect and that of my family is far more important than anything else.\u201d<br \/>\nHe said anyone daring to disrespect me should first see his own<br \/>\ndeeds.<br \/>\nHe said when his party came into power, the world was<br \/>\nviewing the country as a failed state, the country was plunged<br \/>\nin darkness, with depressing economic indicators, lawlessness<br \/>\nand terrorism.<br \/>\nHe recalled that the four-month long sit-in in front of the<br \/>\nparliament dug the grave of democracy, put a shroud on the constitution and law of the land, and tried in vain to bury the system.<br \/>\nHe said a staged play was enacted but we refused to bow<br \/>\nto such elements of disruption and chaos. \u201cI only bow to Allah<br \/>\nAlmighty and no one else.\u201d<br \/>\nThe prime minister said he was very pleased to be<br \/>\namongst his people on this joyous occasion as a dream project<br \/>\nwas being completed.<br \/>\nHe said it was the Pakistan Muslim League \u2013 Nawaz that<br \/>\nwas building the real new Pakistan and said after completing<br \/>\nthe Lowari Tunnel, they will also build a Women University in<br \/>\nChitral.<br \/>\nHe mentioned several other projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) including<br \/>\nthe Hazara Motorway.<br \/>\nHe said it was his party that was also building the new KP.<br \/>\nHe said it was his desire to build a motorway type road<br \/>\nupto Chitral and upgrade it to the level of Lahore, Karachi<br \/>\nand Islamabad.<br \/>\nNawaz Sharif said earlier Chitral was cut<br \/>\noff from the entire country and had no means of communication<br \/>\nfor four months in the winters.<br \/>\nHe said the project was launched in 1974 and should have<br \/>\nbeen completed by 1980, but no one was interested in<br \/>\ncompleting the project and serving the people living in this<br \/>\nremote area.<br \/>\nHe said over 98 per cent of the work had been<br \/>\ncompleted while assuring that the rest would complete soon.<br \/>\nHe said he asked the National Highway Authority Chairman<br \/>\nto complete the project and he was informed<br \/>\nthat it would cost billions, but he directed to complete the<br \/>\nproject, whatever the cost.<br \/>\nHe said the Lowari Tunnel was now<br \/>\nopen for traffic and now the people could utilize it.<br \/>\nThe prime minister also announced provision of<br \/>\nelectricity for the people of Dir and said efforts were<br \/>\nunderway for providing it natural gas.<br \/>\nHe said no matter, what it would cost, the people of Dir would<br \/>\ndefinitely get the gas.<br \/>\nHe accepted the demands of the local MNA<br \/>\nIftikharuddin, who got his seat from former President<br \/>\nPervaiz Musharraf\u2019s party, and said it was during Musharraf\u2019s<br \/>\ntenure that he was hand-cuffed and sent behind the bars.<br \/>\n\u201cNeither I bowed even at that time, nor I will do so<br \/>\nnow,\u201d he maintained.<\/p>\n<p>APP\/Zaheer\/VNS, Islamabad<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LOWARI, July 20 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Thursday warned his opponents not to test his patience and said he was being victimised in the name of accountability; something which the people of Pakistan would not accept.
