For the purpose along with government institutions, the<br \/>\nprivate organizations should also play their due role.<br \/>\nHe was speaking at the inaugural session of the Anti-Tuberculosis<br \/>\ndrive that was initiated by the Indus Hospital Karachi at the<br \/>\nmausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Saturday.<br \/>\nThe President remarked that the Indus Hospital has set a good<br \/>\nexample which should be emulated.<br \/>\nDr. Abdul Bari Khan of the Indus Hospital Karachi also spoke on<br \/>\nthe<br \/>\noccasion.<br \/>\nGovernor Sindh, Muhammad Zubair, and Chief Minister, Syed Murad<br \/>\nAli Shah, also attended the ceremony.<br \/>\nThe President also inaugurated the launch of 10 mobile units made<\/p>\n<p>available by the World Health Organization (WHO) through the<br \/>\ninternational fund.<br \/>\nThe mobile unit is equipped with a full-fledged lab and x-ray for<br \/>\nthe diagnosis of the TB.<br \/>\nThe President stressed that fostering awarness regarding hygiene<br \/>\nwas essential to help overcome infectious disease.<br \/>\nThe volunteers of anti-TB programme can play an important role in<br \/>\nthis regard, he added.<br \/>\nThe President hoped that through anti-TB programme this disease<br \/>\nwould soon be eliminated from Karachi and would later be successfully<br \/>\nimplemented in other parts of the country.<br \/>\nHe stated that the initiation of such a drive from the mausoleum<br \/>\nof Quaid-i-Azam, indicates that it would be a success.<br \/>\nThe brand ambassador of the Anti-TB programme and former Test<br \/>\nCaptain, Younus Khan, school children and those attended the programme<br \/>\npledged on the occasion to extend full cooperation for the complete<br \/>\nelimination of TB.<br \/>\nAPP\/rak\/msk<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI, Aug 19 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain has called for concerted efforts for the elimination of the tuberculosis (TB) from the country.
