{"id":34439,"date":"2017-08-25T14:38:00","date_gmt":"2017-08-25T14:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/?p=34439"},"modified":"2017-08-25T14:38:00","modified_gmt":"2017-08-25T14:38:00","slug":"president-urges-gb-youth-to-convert-cultural-heritage-into-educational-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/2017\/08\/president-urges-gb-youth-to-convert-cultural-heritage-into-educational-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"President urges GB youth to convert cultural heritage into educational opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 696px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-34439-1\" width=\"696\" height=\"522\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/x-flv\" src=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/President-Function.flv?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/President-Function.flv\">http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/President-Function.flv<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>GILGIT, Aug 25 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain Friday urged the youths of culturally rich Gilgit-Baltistan region to convert their cultural heritage into educational opportunities which came from the Great Silk Route in the past and now offered by China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.<br \/>\nAddressing the 8th Convocation of Karakorum International University here, the president appreciated the establishment of CPEC Cell in the university to take full advantage from this mega and allied projects.<br \/>\nHe termed the establishment of cell as a positive development that would help explore the different dimensions of this remarkable project and reap the maximum benefits from the opportunities offered<br \/>\nby related projects keeping in view the local conditions.<br \/>\nThe president emphasized that CPEC would not only bring economic prosperity in this region but would also open up new academic avenues for the youth.<br \/>\nHe urged the university especially its CPEC Cell to build international contacts so that effective strategy could be made to take maximum advantage from these emerging opportunities.<br \/>\nHe hoped that KIU would perform valuable services in this sector adding that if the said Cell introduced some new courses to make CPEC studies more effective and comprehensive then its utilization would not remain confined to this university only.<br \/>\nHe also directed the administration to keep him updated about the activities of this Cell so that he could provide his continuous feedback.<br \/>\nPresident Mamnoon also lauded that the department of modern<br \/>\nlanguages in the university had started functioning.<br \/>\nHe said that linguistic research was not an easy task and<br \/>\nafter the launch of CPEC, the importance of this department had<br \/>\nincreased manifold.<br \/>\nHe further hoped that attention would be paid on the new<br \/>\nlinguistic experiments so that the people travelling on this<br \/>\ncorridor could be saved from the trouble of learning new languages<br \/>\nand they could communicate with the people of this region without<br \/>\nany difficulty.<br \/>\nHe also noted that Urdu also came into existence as a result<br \/>\nof such experiments.<br \/>\nThe President also pointed out that the world today was facing<br \/>\nmany complex challenges that also affected Pakistan as well as the<br \/>\nregion.<br \/>\nHe stressed that in such conditions, it was imperative that<br \/>\ncollective and national approach should be adopted to overcome these<br \/>\nchallenges paving the way for national progress and development.<br \/>\nHe advised the students to also keep an eye on the changes<br \/>\noccurring around the world.<br \/>\nPresident Mamnoon highlighted that like other tourist<br \/>\ndestinations of the world, this region also offered many cultural<br \/>\nartifacts and tourists buy them with great passion.<br \/>\nHe said that if the manufacturing of such products could be<br \/>\nindustrialized then it could revolutionize the economy of this<br \/>\nregion.<br \/>\nOn the occasion, the President also inaugurated the new<br \/>\nbuilding of the Faculty of Education at the university.<br \/>\nHe also gave away degrees and gold medals among the graduates<br \/>\nwho secured prominent positions.<br \/>\nMoreover, he congratulated the students on the successful<br \/>\ncompletion of their educational career and wished them success in<br \/>\ntheir practical life.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>APP\/Zaheer\/VNS, Gilgit<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GILGIT, Aug 25 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain Friday urged the youths of culturally rich Gilgit-Baltistan region to convert their cultural heritage into educational opportunities which came from the Great Silk Route in the past and now offered by China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
