Aug 25 (APP): Minister of State for Information,<\/p>\n<p>Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum, speaking at a<br \/>\nfour-day International Exhibition on Islamic Calligraphy here<br \/>\nFriday said that fine arts, literature, natrional heritage and<br \/>\nculture were the best mediums to project positive image of<br \/>\nPakistan at the global level.<br \/>\nShe said that learning the art of Islamic calligraphy was<br \/>\nan auspicious attainment as besides being an art, it also exhibited<br \/>\nlove and reverence for the Almighty and watching the master pieces<br \/>\nof Islamic calligraphy had a soul-stirring impact.<br \/>\nThe exhibition has been organized by the National History<br \/>\nand Literary Heritage Division in collaboration with Resrarch<br \/>\nCenter for Islamic History, Arts and Culture (IRCICA)<br \/>\nThe Minister said that the purpose of holding the exhibition<br \/>\nwas to introduce Pakistani culture at the global level.<br \/>\nMarriyum told the audience that Pakistan was going to organize<br \/>\nan international film festival next month where films from all over<br \/>\nthe world would be screened and the event was purported to convey it<br \/>\nto the world that Pakistan was an embodiment of peace and love.<br \/>\nThe minister informed the audience that the government was in<br \/>\nthe process of promulgating the first-ever film and broadcasting<br \/>\nproduction policy in the country to revive and encourage the film<br \/>\nindustry to play its due role in refurbishing the image of the<br \/>\ncountry among the comity of nations.<br \/>\nShe said that 60 per cent population of the country consisted<br \/>\nof youth but unfortunately they were not well-versed with their<br \/>\nculture and therefore it was imperative to create opportunities<br \/>\nlike this for the youth to have a rub with fine arts, literature,<br \/>\nnational heritage and culture.<br \/>\nShe said that the present exhibition was the first of its<br \/>\nkind which had been organized in connection with the Seventy<br \/>\nYears Independence Celebrations adding that Pakistan wanted to<br \/>\nhold these celebrations in such a way that it attracted the<br \/>\nworld attention.<br \/>\nShe urged the Pakistani artists to hold exhibitions of their<br \/>\nartwork and accomplishments in the foreign countries suggesting<br \/>\nthat Pakistan must have an institution charged with the<br \/>\nresponsibility to promote the art of calligraphy.<br \/>\nThe minister also made an offer to the National History and<br \/>\nCultural Heritage Division to use the premises of Press Information Department or the Pakistan National Council of Arts for holding<br \/>\nthe calligraphy exhibition.<br \/>\nLater in a brief chat with the journalists, she said that<br \/>\nthe media could play a vital role in projecting the real face<br \/>\nof Pakistan to the world.<br \/>\nShe reiterated that Quaid-e-Azam wanted Pakistan to emerge as<br \/>\na stable democratic entity and the PML (N) government was working<br \/>\nrelentlessly to rebuild the country in the same context.<br \/>\nThe minister observed that Pakistan had been wading through<br \/>\nturbulent waters and it was imperative to establish the rule of<br \/>\nlaw and Constitution in the country.<br \/>\nIn response to a question Marriyum said that PPP had rendered<br \/>\nsacrifices for democracy and expressed the hope that it would not<br \/>\nhesitate from playing its role to strengthen the rule of the<br \/>\npeople.<br \/>\nIn regards to a question about the proposal of national<br \/>\ndialogue by the former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif,<br \/>\nshe said that it was meant to establish ascendency of the<br \/>\nConstitution and safeguarding the sanctity of the people\u2019s vote.<br \/>\nThe conference was attended by the Advisor to the Prime<br \/>\nMinister for National History and Herritage Irfan Siddiqi,<br \/>\nSecretary of the concerned Division Amir Hussain, ambassadors<br \/>\nfrom Islamic countries including Turkey and calligraphists from<br \/>\nMuslim countries including
