{"id":34529,"date":"2017-08-27T13:53:59","date_gmt":"2017-08-27T13:53:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/?p=34529"},"modified":"2017-08-27T13:59:12","modified_gmt":"2017-08-27T13:59:12","slug":"pakistan-energy-issues-would-be-resolved-soon-pm-abbasi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/2017\/08\/pakistan-energy-issues-would-be-resolved-soon-pm-abbasi\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan energy issues would be resolved soon: PM Abbasi"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 640px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-34529-1\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/PM-Briefing-KHI-27-08-2017.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/PM-Briefing-KHI-27-08-2017.mp4\">http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/PM-Briefing-KHI-27-08-2017.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>KARACHI, Aug 27 (APP): Addressing a ceremony hosted by Pakistan Gas Port Consortium in Karachi on Sunday, the Prime Minister said the government is committed to supply gas to every corner of the country.<br \/>\nHe said the government wants to reduce dependence on oil for energy production in the country.<br \/>\nHe said the government was fixing the power crises of<br \/>\nthe country and soon the load-shedding would be a thing of the<br \/>\npast.<br \/>\nHe said it was all possible due to the huge contribution<br \/>\nby LNG sector and referred to Engro terminal with re-gasify<br \/>\ncapacity of 600mmscf and 100 per cent capacity by utilizing<br \/>\n4.5 million tons of LNG.<br \/>\nThe prime minister expressed his confidence that soon in<br \/>\n2018, the terminals in the country would be able to utilizing<br \/>\n9 million tons of LNG for the next five year.<br \/>\nHe said it was all possible due to synergy of these<br \/>\nterminals, great efficiency and the cheapest lowest gas term<br \/>\ncontract in the world.<br \/>\nThe prime minister said the LNG market was much larger<br \/>\nand competition was hard so it was a \u2018win win situation\u2019 for<br \/>\nthe private sector, government and the people.<br \/>\nThe private sector would be bringing in their own LNG,<br \/>\nregasifying it and delivering it to customers through third<br \/>\nparty access regime which had already been put in place, he<br \/>\nsaid, adding thus, there would be a system in which customers<br \/>\nwould be free to opt for purchase of LNG on their own.<br \/>\nThe prime minister said the government would stay out of<br \/>\nbuying LNG and building terminals as it would be done by the<br \/>\nprivate sector.<br \/>\nThe government would step in only when the private<br \/>\nsector failed to meet the demand, he added.<br \/>\nHe said the LNG community in the world had already<br \/>\nappreciated government\u2019s efforts in this regard.<br \/>\nThe government\u2019s vision was to deliver LNG in any<br \/>\nquantity to any customer in any part of the country and eyeing<br \/>\ncomplete replacement of furnace based energy plants in 2019.<br \/>\nThe prime minister termed LNG import \u2018a game changer for<br \/>\nPakistan\u2019 as the fifty per cent primary supply for energy was<br \/>\nbeing made from gas.<br \/>\n\u201cNawaz Sharif had decided not to go for ground breaking<br \/>\nof the projects but for completion of projects,\u201d he said and<br \/>\nreferred to long awaited completion of Lowari Tunnel.<br \/>\nThe prime minister said the PML-N government was for<br \/>\ncompletion of projects despite the political upheavals.<br \/>\nHe said the second LNG project was an equity based with<br \/>\nno debt on the project, reflecting confidence of the<br \/>\ninvestors.<br \/>\nThe prime minister announced that the government did not<br \/>\ninvest a penny in these projects rather it was upto the<br \/>\nprivate parties.
