{"id":35110,"date":"2017-09-08T12:51:15","date_gmt":"2017-09-08T12:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/?p=35110"},"modified":"2017-09-08T15:44:37","modified_gmt":"2017-09-08T15:44:37","slug":"loadshedding-to-be-a-thing-of-past-by-years-end-shahid-khaqan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/2017\/09\/loadshedding-to-be-a-thing-of-past-by-years-end-shahid-khaqan\/","title":{"rendered":"Loadshedding to be a thing of past by year\u2019s end : Shahid Khaqan"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 640px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-35110-1\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Chashma-Plant-08-09-17.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Chashma-Plant-08-09-17.mp4\">http:\/\/vid.app.com.pk\/vid\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Chashma-Plant-08-09-17.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>CHASHMA (Mianwali), Sept 8 (APP): Prime Minister Shahid<br \/>\nKhaqan Abbasi on Friday said the government would end power<br \/>\nload-shedding in the country by the end of year, and complete<br \/>\nongoing power projects by next June.<br \/>\nAddressing a gathering at the inauguration of the C-4,<br \/>\nthe Prime Minister said his government was committed to end<br \/>\nelectricity load-shedding and would add 10,000 MW to the<br \/>\nnational grid by end of its term.<br \/>\nHe said C-4 was a step forward for the PAEC in achieving<br \/>\nits target of adding 8800 MW to the national grid by the year<br \/>\n2020.<br \/>\nThe Prime Minister said his government would fulfill the<br \/>\ntarget, given by Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to the PAEC.<br \/>\nHe said the C-4 project started injecting power into the<br \/>\nnational grid only after a period of eight months since the<br \/>\noperationalisation of C-3, and termed it a matter of pride for<br \/>\nthe entire nation. The three power units of Chasma were providing<br \/>\n900 MW of less expensive electricity, he added.<br \/>\nHe said \u201cThe power supply situation today is much better<br \/>\nin the country as compared to few years back.\u201d<br \/>\nPrime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi recalled that the<br \/>\ngovernment of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was in<br \/>\npower when Pakistan entered into an agreement with China for<br \/>\nconstruction of Chasma\u2019s Unit One project and termed it the<br \/>\nfoundation for a strong Pakistan-China cooperation in civil<br \/>\nnuclear power projects.<br \/>\nHe said Pakistan has put in place a reliable nuclear<br \/>\npower project and it was being ensured that all these projects<br \/>\nfully complied with the safeguards of the International Atomic<br \/>\nEnergy Agency (IAEA). All future nuclear power plants are also<br \/>\nbeing constructed under the same guidelines, he added.<br \/>\nHe said three nuclear power projects were already<br \/>\noperational and were providing less expensive electricity.<br \/>\nHe pointed that it was a matter of satisfaction that K-2<br \/>\nand K-3 power plants in Karachi were being completed at a fast<br \/>\npace, and would provide less expensive and clean energy.<br \/>\nHe said Pakistan was proud to indigenously operate the<br \/>\nplamts under the Karachi Nuclear Power Project for four decades<br \/>\nwithout any foreign assistance.<br \/>\nThe Prime Minister lauded the contributions of the<br \/>\nPakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) in power generation,<br \/>\nhealth and agriculture. He said Pakistan earned precious<br \/>\nforeign exchange through cotton crop, while 18 cancer<br \/>\nhospitals were providing quality healthcare to people.<br \/>\nShahid Khaqan also appreciated the cooperation of<br \/>\nChina in civil nuclear power generation projects and urged<br \/>\nthe Chinese companies to invest more in nuclear power<br \/>\nprojects.<br \/>\n\u201cOur government has initiated large projects with<br \/>\nChina under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor and its<br \/>\nbenefits are having a trickledown effect\u201d he added.<br \/>\nHe said progress was visible on projects of roads,<br \/>\nThar coal and Gwadar, while GDP has risen to over 5 per<br \/>\ncent and hoped it would be 6 percent next year.<br \/>\nThe government, he said, was desirous of greater<br \/>\nparticipation of the private sector in the CPEC projects.<br \/>\nHe said the Chinese government has also showed its keen<br \/>\ninterest in injecting more funds in various projects.<br \/>\nPrime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi thanked the<br \/>\nGovernment of China, EXIM Bank of China and China Atomic<br \/>\nEnergy Commission for its support in making Pakistan<br \/>\nself-sufficient in electricity.<br \/>\nThe event was attended by Interior Minister Ahsan<br \/>\nIqbal, Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher<br \/>\nAli, Chairman PAEC Mohammad Naeem, Chinese ambassador<br \/>\nSun We Dong, DG SPD Lt Gen Mazhar Naveed and Member<br \/>\nPower PAEC Syed Yousaf Raza, representatives of the<br \/>\nChinese companies and senior officials.<\/p>\n<p>APP\/Zaheer<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CHASHMA (Mianwali), Sept 8 (APP): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday said the government would end power load-shedding in the country by the end of year, and complete ongoing power projects by next June.
