Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting said this in a meeting with Ms. Wendy Christine Gilmour, High Commissioner of\u00a0Canada to Pakistan, who called on him here, today.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister said that Pakistan and Canada enjoy strong bilateral relations as both countries share common views on matters of mutual interests including\u00a0promoting democracy, ensuring good governance and women empowerment.<\/p>\n<p>Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that current democratic dispensation, under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan firmly believes in freedom of expression and emphasized the\u00a0need for joint efforts by all\u00a0stakeholders for curbing\u00a0hate speech and countering fake news.<\/p>\n<p>The High Commissioner informed the Minister about her recent visit to Pakistan stock exchange and participation in Edible Oil conference at Karachi and said that she was impressed to see\u00a0the metropolitan city as the hub of economic activity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are\u00a0looking the possibilities to further improve trade and investments in Pakistan \u201cshe said.<\/p>\n<p>The High Commissioner also\u00a0appreciated the manner in which the present Government has dealt with the\u00a0challenge posed by the extremists.<\/p>\n<p>APP\/Naheed\/HB<\/p>\n<p>Source VNS Islamabad<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad, February, 02(APP): The\u00a0Government of PTI is keen to further broaden the areas of cooperation with Canada for mutual benefit of\u00a0the people of both the countries.
