PNCA starts cultural programs to celebrate I-Day

ISLAMABAD, Aug 9 (APP): Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) here late Friday started the colorful activities in connection with 70th Independence Day of Pakistan.
The celebrations started with the inauguration of the National Music Festival featuring performance of classical singers will while the performance of the instrumentalists is scheduled on  August 5. Ghazals and Geet night will take place on August 6.
Classical singers including Meena Sayed, Ijaz Tawakal, Muhammad Akhtar Khan, Badar Zaman Habibi, Sultan Fateh Ali Khan, Rustam Fateh Ali Khan and Shaukat Masood performed at PNCA Auditorium.
The National Puppetry Theatre (NPT) also presented special thematic shows for children at the Liaquat Memorial Hall Rawalpindi and PNCA Islamabad in this regard.
Pakistani and Turkish singers, instrumentalists and performers will take part in the mega musical night on August 13 .
The 2-day long children festival will begin on August 15 featuring national songs competition, tableaus, speech contest, magic show and certificate distribution ceremony while the two week long film-making workshop will commence on August 16.
The dance festival will be organized on August 18 and 19. The two days performance includes classical, folk and regional dances. An exhibition of photographs depicting the land, life and people of Pakistan would also be part of the 70th Independence Day of Pakistan.
Syed Jamal Shah, Director General PNCA said the celebrations of Independence Day reflect the enthusiasm of the nation, and the PNCA programmes will have a reflection of the culture of all federating units to showcase the harmony and diversity of cultural heritage from all parts of the country.
