Right to Information Bill to be presented beofr the Cabinet soon: Pervaiz Rashid

ISLAMABAD, Sep 26 (APP): Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said that draft Bill for access to Information law will be presented before the Cabinet for approval very soon.
Talking to media after a ceremony here Monday, the Minister said the Access to Information Bill will be a comprehensive law which will ensure fundamental right of Media as well as people of the country.
He said the much awaited Bill was delayed due to elaborated study to make it comprehensive and according to the future needs.
The Minister said the Law Ministry has finalized the draft Bill and it will be presented in the next Cabinet meeting for approval. He said the Bill has been prepared in the same format which was approved by the Standing Committee of Senate unanimously.
On this occasion, PTI government’s victim Azra Afridi narrated her woes before the Information Minister and media. The Minister said the case of Azra Afridi is a test case for PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He urged Chief Minister KPK and PTI chief Imran Khan to resolve the issue and leave no stone unturned in providing justice to her.
The Minister said the KPK government should take concrete steps for elimination of corruption from all departments. He said that PTI government should strength the accountability process more in KPK instead of chanting slogans against others.
