Senate body on Planning, Development and Reforms meets

ISLAMABAD, Jan 25(APP): Senate Standing committee on Planning, Development and Reforms Wednesday given a detailed briefing about the progress and funds allocated/spent so far for the construction of hundreds of small dams in Balochistan.
The committee which met here At Parliament House with Senator Tahir HUssain Mashhadi in chair said that Balochistan is the future of country and to address the issue of water shortage dams should be constructed in the area on priority basis.
The members were of the view that area wise Balochitan is the biggest province and has immense importance in the national economy.
The committee was also given a detail briefing on the progress and funds allocated/ spent so far on work on Kachi canal project D.G Khan.
Besides the members of the committee the meeting was also attended by the officials of related ministries and departments.
