Chinese Executive Vice Foreign Minister calls on PM

ISLAMABAD, Feb 28 (APP): Executive Vice Foreign Minister of China Yesui Zhang called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at the PM House here Tuesday.
Warmly welcoming the Executive Vice Foreign Minister of China, the Prime Minister appreciated China’s diplomatic and material support to Pakistan in its fight against terrorism. PM also thanked the Chinese Government for their continued support on the NSG and at the UNSC 1267 Committee. Pakistan and China are iron brothers and friendship with China is the cornerstone of our foreign policy, stated the PM.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the leadership and brotherly people of the People’s Republic of China for their all weathers support that is getting stronger with each passing day. CPEC is a game changer that is going to transform the lives of the billions of people of the region, the Prime Minister said.
PM welcomed participation of the Executive Vice Foreign Minister as a Representative of the Government of People’s Republic of China in the ECO Summit on special invitation.
PM stated that the theme of the Summit is “Connectivity for Regional Prosperity”, which is convergent with China’s One-Belt-One-Road and with our bilateral flagship initiative, China Pakistan Economic Corridor, it would provide us an opportunity to emphasize the strategic benefits of CPEC for the ECO region and beyond.
PM stated that “I look forward to my visit to China in May 2017 to participate in the “Belt and Road Forum” for International Cooperation (BRF) at the invitation of President Xi Jinping”.
Sun Weidong Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Xio Qian DG Asian Affairs, Chen Feng Consular Asian Department, Tariq Fatemi Special Assistant to PM,  Fawad Hasan Fawad Secretary to PM, Ms Tehmina Janjua, Foreign Secretary designate and other senior officials also attended the meeting.
